New U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations now require airlines to automatically issue refunds for flight cancellations and significant delays (3+ hours domestic, 6+ hours international). Airlines must also refund fees for services not provided, like Wi-Fi, and checked bag fees delayed over 12 hours domestically or 15-30 hours internationally.
